trying to fight off the problem

Now that I finally find a job, one of the issues I’m facing is my surging appetite. The problem started when I begin searching for a job and failed to ace the interview. That time, eating is my diversion to keep my mind off the frustrations. It only takes three weeks, but my body already becomes accustomed to my new eating habits. The problem intensifies with the eating patterns of my roommates.

I’m trying to fight off the problem by resisting the foods serve and overeating. I also Google the answer for what suppresses appetite fast? I’m pretty sure if this will continue I will gain weight in no time. It’s tough finding an answer, but I’m sure I will be able to do it. Perseverance is the key to it. It’s also a requirement to weight loss other than discipline.

Hong Kong shuts down with Typhoon Nesat

Latest News said, Hong Kong schools, financial markets, and businesses have shut as Typhoon Nesat brought howling winds, squalls of rain and rough seas to the territory. The city issued a number eight storm signal before 05:00 on Thursday (21:00GMT on Wednesday). All ferry services and some bus services have been cancelled and trains are operating at a reduced frequency.

Few people were on the streets, with 100km/h (60mph) winds shredding umbrellas and making it hard to walk. Local radio reported that two people, including a taxi driver, were injured when scaffolding collapsed onto a taxi. And a large cargo barge crashed into the seafront after slipping its moorings, television footage showed. About 50 people had to be evacuated from a nearby block of flats.

Some flights have been delayed. Lynn Chan, a lawyer who works in the city’s central business district, said she struggled through the wind and rain only to find her office was closed. “I am the only person here. I guess I should have listened to the news before I set out,” she said.

At noon local time (04:00 GMT), Typhoon Nesat was 370km (230 miles) southwest of Hong Kong and was moving towards China’s Hainan Island. At least 18 people were killed when the typhoon swept through the Philippines earlier this week. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange has shut for the day, with the Hong Kong Observatory saying the number eight storm signal would be hoisted for most of Thursday. Government offices and courts have also closed, delaying the announcement of a landmark ruling on a closely watched immigration case.

thought of having a job is now sinking in

Finally, the thought of having a job is now sinking in. Well, actually I’m not employed yet. But, I already signed a job offer at one of the companies I applied with and they are already processing my license. So, all I have to do is to wait until my license is out. I can finally rest my head from the stress of job hunting.

For now, there’s not much I can do other than waiting. Good thing we have an internet connection in the room so we can surf all we want, which leads me to different websites. I’m currently looking at addressplaques.net for address plaques that I want to buy for my parents’ house. Having that will ease the visitors in searching our house. In addition, these unique, highly detailed, custom home signs will add color and beauty to our home that lasts a lifetime.

perfect device for her

In some ways, wifey loves to read. She is making an effort to read articles and books. But, her laziness to open a book surpasses her desire to read. So, I thought of giving her something that motivates her to read. Since she likes computers a lot, I think she will enjoy reading in a device. And the perfect device would be kobo wireless ereader.

However, I will have to make this a secret for now since I want to give it on her birthday even though I’m sure she likes to receive a bag. But, I can also give her a bag other than the device, besides I’m pretty sure I’m a working man by that time. So, I will have enough money to buy her things I promised her before. Hopefully, she will like it.

failed to noticed it

Last month, I shopped for long sleeve shirts in preparation for my incoming interviews. But, I failed to noticed that one of the shirts has buttonholes, but with no button. I don’t want to return it to the store because I really like the cloth as well as the design. So, I keep it, but I have to purchase a cufflink.

Wifey suggested several silver cufflinks she found on the web. She said it will be her gift to me in case she gets good news from the company she is applying. But, she has a condition and that is for me to choose the cufflink of my choice. In that case, I have a few that I like. It’s up to her to pick the number she likes to give.

HTC sues Apple with tech patents from Google

According to the recent news, Taiwanese smartphone firm HTC has fired a fresh salvo in its continuing war with Apple over patent infringement. HTC has used patents it bought from Google last week to lodge a fresh complaint against Apple with the US International Trade Commission (ITC). It has alleged that Apple’s computers and mobile devices infringe patents involving wi-fi capability and processor communication technology. This is the third complaint that HTC has filed against Apple.

HTC is not the only smartphone maker involved in a legal tussle with Apple. Samsung Electronics, which makes the Galaxy series of smartphones and tablet PCs, has also been fighting a legal battle against Apple. Apple has filed complaints against the South Korean manufacturer, accusing it of infringing its patents. It said that Samsung had copied the design and look of Apple’s iPhone and iPad devices. Samsung has counter-sued Apple, saying it infringed Samsung’s wireless patents.

Both HTC and Samsung use Google’s Android operating system in most of their smartphones. Analysts said that HTC’s latest legal action, which uses patents it acquired from Google, indicates that the tussle is becoming a much bigger issue than just a simple fight between two manufacturers.

The companies have been stepping up their legal action against each other this year. And in the early salvos, Apple seems to have got the upper hand. Last month, a court in the Netherlands banned Samsung from selling three models of its Galaxy smartphones in a number of European countries after Apple filed a claim for patent infringement. Earlier this week, Samsung pulled out its new Galaxy Tab 7.7 from the IFA electronics fair in Berlin, one the world’s largest electronics shows, after a court blocked sales of the product in Germany.
