Aloe Vera can help the stomach breakdown proteins and reduce the likelihood of undigested food molecules causing a problem in the gut. The range of fatty acids produced by Aloe vera includes linoleic and caprylic. Linoleic is also a possible remedy for irritable bowel and caprylic is sometimes used for candida albicans. These fatty acids may not only lower cholesterol but are also helpful due to their anti inflammatory properties. How does aloe vera help?

Food enters the bowel in a more acceptable state as it is broken down further resulting in less gas production which you will need to get rid of. Gas puts pressure on the abdominal wall making it stretch. It is the stretching effect that causes pain.

Prevents overgrowth of the bad bacteria and fungus, such as candida albicans.

Soothes and heals an inflamed bowel. It could be that your irritable bowel is due to a sensitive bowel.

Food intolerance and aloe vera

reduces the likelihood of large proteins entering the bloodstream.

vitamins and minerals are more readily absorbed.

Reduces inflammation caused by food intolerance.

You will not be surprised to learn that often medical problems go together. -many people find that when they cleansed their bowel, changed their diet to a healthier one, their irritable bowel problems slowly begin to ease. You are is what you eat, never was a truer statement said. If you can [slowly] change your diet for the better then your body will reward you. You will look healthier and feel better. You will look younger for your age and maybe you’ll even be able to do activities such as sports well into your later life. Good diets need to have their place in modern living, otherwise we will not be able to keep up with the modern world as well as we would like. Furthermore, foods low in saturated fat does not trigger an irritable bowel to the same degree as saturated fats. Natural products like aloe vera also have their part to play.

Lots of variables that contribute to this failure, one of which is highly overlooked… and that reason of possible failure lies within the type of gym you choose. It can be the difference between success and failure. And many people never even take this into consideration. How do you choose a gym that’s right for you to help in your fitness success? Here are some tips to help you in your choosing the right gym

Location: Convenience plays a major role in your success. If it’s not easy to get to the gym, it can be used as an excuse day after day to go straight home after work rather than to the gym. Find a gym that is convenient and easy for you to get to. This will increase your success rate 10 fold. If you’re not going to the gym, you’re not working toward your goals.

Hours of Operation: Different people enjoy going to the gyms at different times. Are you a night owl? Or do you like to wake up super early and hit the gym before work? Either way, some gyms don’t stay open super late nor do they open early in the morning. Depending on when you exercise, make sure the gym is open when you think that you’ll more than likely prefer to work out.

Members: The best way to get a taste of the type of members in the club (or the type of members that you’ll be surrounded by when you’re in the gym), make sure you take a tour during the actual hours you will typically exercise to get a good feel of the members (younger, older, athletes, etc.) and how busy it is at that time. Many gyms have a variety of different personalities using their club at different hours. For example, the morning crowd may be completely different than the evening crowd. There are also different cycles during the day that are busier than others. This is need to know information. If you take a tour in the morning hours, but actually go to the gym in the afternoons, you may end up not liking the crowd or the amount of foot traffic.

Gym Staff: Again, you’ll want to go in at the time that you plan on using the gym to get a feel of the staff including managers, front desk workers, and personal trainers. The last thing you want is to tie yourself into a contract with people who aren’t friendly. If you do, chances are you’ll rarely show up. If you decide to work with a personal trainer, make sure they are educated and certified.

Cleanliness of the Gym: Make sure you check the machines, bathrooms, towels, gym lockers etc. for cleanliness – health clubs are a sanctuary for bacteria. Join an unclean gym and expect your annual doctor bills to increase a good bit. Seriously!

Gym Equipment: Check to make sure all machines are clean and operating. Dust build-up, rust, frayed cables are all signs of neglect. It’ll be hard to reach your fitness goals if half the machines in the gym are broken half the year. Also check to make sure the type of equipment matches your training style. Do you prefer to workout with mainly free weights, plate loaded equipment, etc. Also, if you’re a heavy lifter, you may want to check the dumbbell and plate racks to make sure they have enough weight for you to train with. During busy times you may find yourself sharing much of the equipment. Results don’t come from standing around waiting for someone to get off your training station.

Classes: Get a class schedule and ask if you can try out a class that you might enjoy. Make sure the classes fit into your schedule. Just because they have your favorite class, it won’t do any good if you can’t fit it into your schedule. And be realistic as to whether or not you can make it to class during the scheduled times.

Fees: Fitting exercise into your budget is important. Shop around to find a gym you can afford. Most gyms are competitive in their cost, so in shopping around, you’ll be able to find the gym that also fits your other requirements. Also, don’t forget that medicare and some insurance plans cover gym membership fees. Ask your insurance company about their policies.

But having flexible fingers can also help you avoid injuries from common physical activities around the house or in the office. Strong fingers also improve your chances of preventing conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome. Exercising and stretching are effective ways to keep your fingers strong and healthy.

Finger Flexion and Extension - hold out your hand and extend all five of your fingers as far as possible. Hold them in this position for five seconds and then make a tight fist, leaving your thumb on the outside. Hold the fist tight for five seconds and then relax your hand. Repeat the exercise several times and then switch to the other hand.

Five-Finger Exercises - place your hand palm-side down on a table. Relax your hand and slowly lift your fingers while keeping your wrist flat on the table surface. Hold for five seconds and then relax your fingers again. Now lift each finger up one at a time, as high as possible and hold for five seconds while keeping the heel of your palm and wrist flat on the table. Relax after you have raised each finger, and repeat the exercise. After several repetitions, switch hands.

Coordinating Finger Movements – you also want your hand to be palm-side down on a table. Lift your hand and touch your thumb with the tip of your pinkie finger. Keep your wrist and arm flat on the surface of the table. Hold for five seconds and then relax your hand. Now touch your thumb with the tip of your ring finger the same way. Cycle through to your middle finger and index finger, holding for five seconds on each, and relaxing in between. Then repeat the exercises in the opposite direction. Perform this exercise several times with each hand.

Thumb Exercise - hold your hand out in front of you and touch your thumb to each finger one at a time on the lowest section reachable on each finger. After touching a finger, stretch your thumb back in a “hitch-hiking” type position and then touch the next finger and repeat through each. Relax your hand after the exercise and repeat several times on both hands.

It is essential to have good nutrition to conduct the healing processes of broken bones, wounds, ulcers, immunity building, infections and other conditions. Healing nutrients contain minerals, vitamins and other nutrients that promote body functions and allow you to heal. Such nutrients are found in whole grains, vegetables, fish, fruits and other foods. Vegetables and fruits are beneficial healing foods since all contain generous amounts of fiber, vitamins and minerals. For example, produce contains vitamin E and vitamin A, powerful antioxidants that strengthen your immune system against toxins and substances that may slow down the healing process.

Whole grains contain healing properties that can decrease your risk for colorectal cancer, asthma, hardened arteries, stroke, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and high blood pressure. Whole grains are naturally equipped with fiber and B vitamins, which help fight infection and carry toxins out of the body. Examples of whole grains include steel oatmeal, bulgur, popcorn, millet, buckwheat, wild rice, brown rice and whole wheat crackers, pasta and bread. You should consume three or more servings of whole grains daily.

Omega-3 fatty acids are healthy fats that contain healing properties. These nutrients are only obtainable through foods, responsible for numerous healing processes such as building cell membranes, controlling blood clotting and promoting anti-inflammatory properties, helping prevent or reduce complications from conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, stroke, heart disease and some cancers. It is recommended you consume fish sources two to three times weekly. Sardines, tuna, lake trout, herring, halibut and mackerel are beneficial fish sources.

Water is essential to good health for many reasons; among them is how it flushes toxins out of your body, thus promoting healing. Because you lose water through perspiration, bowel movements and urine, it is important to stay properly hydrated. It is suggested that you drink daily at least 64 oz. of water for best results. Drinking natural fruit juices, herbal teas and other beverages that contain water will also help replenish your fluid supply.

Over-the-counter H-2-receptor blockers, such as cimetidine (Tagamet HB), famotidine (Pepcid AC), nizatidine (Axid AR) or ranitidine (Zantac 75), are available at half the strength of their prescription versions. Instead of neutralizing the acid, these medications reduce the production of acid. They don’t act as quickly as antacids, but they provide longer relief. Take these medications before a meal that you think may cause heartburn because it takes those about 30 minutes to work. They’re also effective in reducing reflux at night if taken at bedtime. Some H-2-receptor blockers can cause infrequent side effects, including dizziness, diarrhea, headache, kidney problems and temporary breast enlargement in men. In rare instances they can also react dangerously with other medications.

Elevation of the upper body at night generally is recommended for all patients with GERD. Nevertheless, most patients with GERD have reflux only during the day and elevation at night is of little benefit for them. It is not possible to know for certain which patients will benefit from elevation at night unless acid testing clearly demonstrates night reflux. However, patients who have heartburn, regurgitation, or other symptoms of GERD at night are probably experiencing reflux at night and definitely should use upper body elevation. Reflux also occurs less frequently when patients lie on their left rather than their right sides.

Patients with mild symptoms are treated as needed with non-prescription remedies like antacids, a non-prescription H2 blocker, or the non-prescription proton pump inhibitor (PPI), omeprazole (brand name: Prilosec OTC). For patients with more severe symptoms, or for those who do not respond adequately to non-prescription therapies, continuous treatment with a prescription-strength H2 blocker or PPI is recommended. H2 blockers and PPIs both work by decreasing the production of stomach acid that causes many of the symptoms of gerd.

Decreasing the size of portions at mealtime may also help control symptoms. Eating meals at least 2 to 3 hours before bedtime may lessen reflux by allowing the acid in the stomach to decrease and the stomach to empty partially. In addition, being overweight often worsens symptoms. Many overweight people find relief when they lose weight.

Treatment for GERD and heartburn ranges from over-the-counter remedies to surgery. Here’s a rundown on the pros and cons of your heartburn treatment options.

Pay Close Attention to Your Diet-Foods and drinks that aggravate GERD include spicy foods, acid based foods, greasy foods, alcohol, and caffeine. Before you bite into that pizza or fried chicken, think about how you are going to feel a couple of hours from now. Before you drink those beers, followed by that cup of coffee, think about the last time you did that and were up all night. If you are suicidal and enjoy great pain, drink that big glass or orange juice on an empty stomach. Sometimes changing your diet can be the key in controlling acid reflux.

Whereas the stomach has a protective lining so that it doesn’t succumb to the acid, the esophagus has no such lining. That’s why upwardly mobile stomach acid burns, sometimes so badly that you may think you’re suffering a heart attack.

Medications ranging from over-the-counter antacids to prescription drugs are used to treat acid reflux. Find out what your options are and which are best for you.

Yet, I haven’t started actualizing my resolution. It seems like I have all the reasons in the world not to. It gives me a creep thinking I will blow off my own plan. But, I did not do anything until I saw some photos of my sister in Facebook.

She really looks good and hot over her new size. She had lost a lot of weight. In fact, she is thinner than wifey who is five years younger than her. She used to have a body twice or thrice her size today, but that is history. Now she is enjoying her new bod and flaunting it to the entire world.

I guess it’s my turn to do my thing. I’ll just have to get some help from diet supplements. For sure, if used along with diet and exercise, the results will be better. Oh well, if you are also interested to lose weight, you can find diet supplements here. I will also do the same thing so I will find the best one that suits me.

The more time you spend sitting at a desk, in a car, or in front of the television or a computer, the more you must do to prevent back pain. Good posture, proper body mechanics, and exercise will help you prevent back pain. Here are some preventive tips for back pain problems:

Maintain an ideal body weight. This reduces the load on your lower back. Lose weight if you need to. For more information, see the topic Weight Management.

Practice good posture and body mechanics. Like proper lifting techniques and sleeping positions that protect your back.

Adjust your car seat so that you are not reaching for the steering wheel when you drive. Your arms should be in a slightly flexed, comfortable position.

Always wear your seat belt while you are in a motor vehicle.

Despite the fact that religion is a matter of individual choice, a new study comes to show that one’s end may be highly influenced by whether they believe in a higher power or not. Conducted on terminally-ill cancer patients, the research clearly demonstrates that those with firm religious beliefs are more likely to require or request aggressive medical treatment than those who do not resort to positive religious coping to come to terms with their disease, WebMD informs.

The study, published in the latest issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association, included 345 advanced cancer patients who were monitored between January 2003 and August 2007 in hospitals and clinics across the US. All patients were observed until death – on average, all passed away four months after enrolling in the study. The results clearly reveal, though, that religious belief does play an essential part in the medical care the sufferer receives in their final days, with those who rely on it being more likely to resort to life-prolonging procedures than those who do not.

Whereas the number of requests for mechanical ventilation or cardiopulmonary resuscitation was bigger with religious cancer patients, that of “end-of-life planning strategies” was remarkably low. Sufferers who rely on religion in their final hours have less DNR (do not resuscitate) orders or living wills, the study shows, as opposed to those who do not believe in a higher power.

The explanation for the findings could be in that religious patients simply do not trust doctors enough to believe them when they’re being told that there is no more hope in their case. “There may be a sense that it is really not in the hands of the doctors to decide when to give up. Refusing some of these very aggressive medical interventions may be seen as giving up on the possibility that God might intervene.” study researcher Holly G. Prigerson, PhD, says for WebMD.

The smallest building blocks of matter are atoms and their parts. At this level, everything is in vibration. Vibrations occur at different frequencies, measured in Hertz. Frequency measures how quickly a vibration is moving. For example, your brainwaves are divided into different categories by frequency. All of them are present at any given moment. One of the categories will most likely be predominant depending on what you are doing. If you are busy at work, your brainwaves will register mostly in the beta range from 14 to 20 Hertz. If you close your eyes and relax for a few moments your brainwaves will slow down to predominately alpha waves from 8 to 13 Hertz.. Even individual cells resonate with the combined frequencies of their parts.

When something in your body goes out of tune imbalance, dis-ease or illness can settle in. To assist in returning your body to balance there is one thing that carries all the frequencies of your body. That is your voice.

So, how do you find the frequency, for example, of a tight muscle in your shoulder? When you were a child, did you ever play with making siren sounds with your voice? The lowest sound you can make, the highest sound you can make and all the sounds in between as you slide your sound up and down carry every frequency of your body. To find the frequency the tight muscle in the shoulder, first, create the intention that you want to find the sound that will help to bring that muscle back into tune. Next, make the siren sound up and down. Listen carefully to the sound.

Is there a tone or sound in the siren that seems louder or softer than the others? As you slide your voice up and down, is there a sound that you seem to be drawn to or that you keep returning to? Allow your intuition and body wisdom to find the sound. Once you have found the frequency or sound, sing or hum it to the tight muscle. You can use a vowel like ahhh or ohhh or any sound that feels appropriate. Imagine the sound massaging the muscle fibers and relaxing the tension. Combining visualization with sound is extremely effective. Always remember to hold a clear intention for the sound you give to your body.

Just by cooking dinner a woman can heal her family and keep them healthy. She can protect her husband’s heart by using lots of garlic. And protect his libido by serving less soy.

Many Americans have food phobias. Think about how many people are frightened of drinking milk. How many won’t eat bread. I go into the health food store to get bread and there are loaves with no flour, and those with no yeast, and those without wheat, and I wonder where all the bread has gone.

We have a national history of food phobias, starting with Graham (inventor of the healthy graham cracker), continuing with Kellogg (of breakfast flake fame), and right into the modern day’s current fads (no fat? no carbs? all protein? all raw?). Not too much has really changed. More and more people are learning about herbal medicine, but I am sure many of them think it is difficult and arcane. They may be unaware that herbal medicine is the medicine for the people, of the people, and by the people.
