Good Participation - People support what they create. Being a part of the goal-setting process is motivating and it allows people to feel needed. They like to feel they are making a difference. When people have given input, they have a stake in the issue. They own it and support it. Seeing goals become reality and helping to shape the future is fulfilling. Goal participation builds team spirit, enhances morale, and helps everyone feel important.
Positive dissatisfaction – Someone said that dissatisfaction is the one-word definition for motivation. Dissatisfied people are highly motivated people, for they see the need for immediate change. They know something is wrong and often know what needs to be done. Dissatisfaction can inspire change or it can lead to a critical spirit. It can lead to apathy or stir one into action. When you feel you’re too important to help in some menial, but necessary task, you’re only fooling yourself. You will never be exempt from the mundane. The upside is: that’s what helps to build character to make you a stronger leader. My father used to say, “Son, no matter what you do in life whether it’s mopping a floor on up to leading men in the military, if you should die doing it, they should be able to say it was your finest hour.”

As a result, my attitude became, “Do you want me to chair the meeting or set up the chairs for the meeting?” I encourage you to adopt that attitude and adapt it to your everyday life. Some call that “servant leadership.” It worked for me and it will work for you. That process helped me eventually get my dream job. It doesn’t matter the size of the task. That’s not relevant. The question is, “Does it need to be done?” Are you the one in a position to do it? If so, get busy. We would all like prestige assignments and jobs, but life isn’t always cooperative that way.

How do you practice leadership? You take every task, no matter how small and approach it like it’s the most important task you’ll ever get. Those exercises will help you make good leadership almost automatic. They will lead to recognition and rewards those others, with a self-image that they are too “cool” to be so disciplined and motivated, only dream about.

Any inexperienced leaders fail to sufficiently convey a vision to the subordinates they lead. If you are not skilled in telling everyone which direction to head you’ll have confusion. Worse yet, you’ll have a situation where people start creating their own direction. For some leaders their deficiency comes not from a lack of communication but from not having a vision themselves.

Vision is what determines what an organization is going to try to accomplish. Without a clear vision the organization will be pulled in many different directions. Some of these directions will cancel each other out, so even though much work will be done, very little is actually accomplished.

It is much easier to lead if you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve and your ideas are good. Even if you don’t have a tremendous amount of skill as a leader, having a clear vision can help you through your shortcomings. People want to follow someone with a plan. By having a clear vision of what you want to accomplish, you will attract followers and people who want to align themselves with your vision. Individuals realize that on of the cornerstones of success is a clear vision. For this reason they want to align themselves with someone who articulates a vision–they want to join in the success.

This leadership style is one that is typically less prevalent now than it was in the 70′s and 80′s. This leader thrives on leading from the front making all the decisions and typically dragging the rest of his people along with him.

He is energised by his own ego and is driven internally to make decisions and those which are right and those which are his. There is little potential to influence here and he is single-tracked in his determination for doing things his way.

Often full of self-importance, he has little confidence in his subordinates and distrusts them. He makes most of the decisions and passes them down the line. He makes threats where necessary to ensure that his orders are obeyed.

The autocratic leadership style is sometimes described as strong leadership, desired by their followers. This is where individuals seek ‘leadership’, but often mistakes this for being told what to do, which is much more comforting in certain situations and organisations. Sadly, in many organisations, individuals have no other experience than this way of being led.

Whilst it is less favourable a style nowadays, than in the past, it rather seems to have become unstylish to overtly behave this way. To be seen to be an autocrat is not the thing. This may well have driven the Autocrat into hiding. Often ego-driven autocrats will be found lurking just below the surface of the other three key styles, paying homage to current trends, but still calling the shots!

Just like other people out there I’m also a bit confused in choosing the best insurance, whole or term life insurance. Basically, buying the wrong kind of insurance can do more damage to a person’s finances like any other financial product sold today. Some people say I’m better off when I buy term. Others say term can’t surpass the benefit of whole life after paying the policy.

Generally, term is the least expensive for of life insurance. It is written for a specific period of time. But, it only offers death benefits if the owner dies within that period. If not, then no money will be given back to the family when the term expires.

As for whole life insurance, it is indeed a bit more costly. But, it offers a lifelong protection with savings component. As long as you pay your premiums, a percentage is set aside and invested. As the policy gains value, you may be able to borrow up to 90% of your policy’s cash value tax-free.

So, there it goes. With all those explanations I can’t make a decision yet. I like the idea of paying less for a premium, but the thought of having both savings and protection is also very tempting.

These are all expressions of intuition. I feel that it is very important that we start listening to our intuition now. Start to re-learn this language. Start to become fluent in its many subtle nuances and syntax. Why? Because we need new ways of thinking beyond our current thought paradigms. Our global problems need solutions that emanate from a higher level of consciousness. Intuition is like hearing messages from a higher consciousness. From the heart. From the soul. From the universe. It reveals our inner truths. Our universal truths. Yet it gets mixed up with head thinking. So let’s look at ways you can access your intuition.

Take A Walk In Nature – get away from the computer. Turn off the cell phone. Go for a walk within nature. Just be among nature. Your body, your head, your soul longs to hear the sounds and silence of nature. The song of the birds. The whispers of the wind. The breaking of the wave. The silence between the sounds. The silence between your thoughts. Go there now. Your intuition will speak when the head is silent.
Clean Up Your Energy Fields – if your personal or professional life is stressful and soul-destroying than this will affect your energy fields. Your thoughts and emotions are like bio-electrical currents that radiate out from your body. Polluted toxic thinking creates dirty energy fields.
