I thought that when I get out of the hospital I will be able to get rid of the dark circles around my eyes. However, I am wrong. The more than eight hours of sleep I spent to heal my wound is actually not sufficient. So, I decided to finally search for the reason that I have dark circles under eyes even though I am not that vain. I don’t want to look haggard anymore.
Based on my researched, the dark circles are oxidizing hemoglobin that begins in the tiny capillaries around the eyes. The red blood cells sometimes have to line up, single file, to get through. However, red blood cells frequently get lost and wander into the surrounding skin. When the hemoglobin is broken down, its remaining components have a dark blue-black color. In short, the leaky capillaries cause our dark under-eye circles.
So, even if I sleep 24 hours a day that would not necessarily mean I will lose those dark circles. The only way to get rid of them is with the help of eye creams. The problem is that I don’t want to buy those. And I don’t know if all eye creams is unisex.
