Last week, I had a few talks with my friend, a former classmate in college. Actually, we are not that close, just an acquaintance. But, we are both online that time so I took advantage of it and start a conversation. I have learned that after college he proceeded to take up nursing. Luckily, he passed the exams and made his way to New York. He is really doing well with his career in the foreign land. I asked him if he is coming home for Christmas. But, he said that he will be staying because he will be attending a convention which gives him little time. Good thing he was able to make a lot of friends and agreed to tour around some amusement parks for the rest of the days. Our conversation just ends there since I have been keeping him too late. Our time zones are way too different.
After our little chitchat, I feel a little envious towards him which gives me an inspiration to do more. He is successful in his career in a land different from ours with different culture and values. I could not help but ask myself, can I be as courageous as he is. Well, I think it takes a lot of thinking for me though.
