Leak prevention!

Regular inspections on your roof are necessary. This will enable you to check for areas where dirt is accumulating or where water has formed pools, as these could result in rusty parts that need repainting. Should you do the inspection yourself, make sure that your ladder is stable and that you know what to look when you’re already up there. Otherwise, send someone to do it.

Schedule repainting every two to three years. Asks a contractor for a regular roof maintenance check.

Cover the entire roof with screen to prevent foreign objects from falling on it. These may cause dents and damages that will let water seep through the ceiling. You can have someone cut any low-lying tree branches that might hit your roof when strong winds come.

  3. Just to share my experience with roof leaks.

I never inspected my roof before and had the biggest mistake of ignoring the leak signs on my ceiling. It had gotten so worse that I needed to call several roofing contractors to come and take a look. I ended up being referred to a New York Roofing Company and they replaced the entire roof and some sidings as well. Lesson learned!
Covering the roof is a great tip! I suggest check the gutters too.
Check your house and don’t ignore the signs. Hope this helps!
